Innovative Infrastructure Solutions Augment Analytic Sandboxes

Where there is business, there is strategy. Even though the technology, skillset and methodology might be new, the end goal of extracting important insights for business decisions remains the same. CMS Wire explains how businesses could finally succeed with more affordable and efficient technologies available to achieve these goals today in the article, "Using Big Data to Accelerate Time to Answer."

One strategy that businesses are using to increase time-to-answer is the development of an "analytic sandbox." Data is split into two types: raw and unknown data exists in addition to mature and known data. Unknown data undergoes business intelligence technologies in an analytic sandbox.

The article states:

The ability to organize, digest and navigate through vast quantities of disaggregated or unstructured data is a requirement to identify the critical insights and address the most important questions that organizations must answer to make key decisions. The processes of data aggregation, data preparation and data analysis are time consuming, costly and fraught with error, misunderstanding or miscommunication.

These shortcomings in the legacy technologies are where innovative infrastructure solutions have come into play. These new technologies focus on providing a single point of access to all information across the enterprise in a secure manner.
