Turn to PolySpot Solutions for Infrastructure Needs When Implementing Enterprise Mobility
Everyone wants a turn at copting the 'as-a-service' phrase. This time we have seen it with enterprise mobility. A timely article from Slashdot discusses "Is Enterprise Mobility-as-a-Service (EMaas) Right for your company?" A better question may ask if companies need business decisions made on the go.
Upper level executive buy-in and BYOD policies have spurred the growth of enterprise mobility, but this aspect of what is becoming another business norm has not reached a level of stasis in the ecosystem of an organization.
Mobile device management (MDM) solutions have seen some attention. This allows for an internal infrastructure with IT in the driver's seat.
According to the article, MDM might not be the cure-all:
But with the expanding roll of mobility, and the growing requirements of mobility management, we’re now seeing very complex implementations in order to manage devices, applications and data—including mobile app development and deployment, secure corporate app stores, policy enforcement, separation of corporate vs. personal apps, data leakage protection, etc. For many organizations, the level of complexity is becoming overwhelming.
Enterprise Mobility-as-a-service is the recommendation of the article referenced above. As this technology is relatively new and currently only represents a small share of the market, we would not jump on board quite yet. Instead, it would be smart to seek out innovative solutions with a successful history such as PolySpot.
